Corn: that most American of grains. These days corn is feed, fuel and ubiquitous sweetener, the biggest of business and some say the core of an industrial food system that's unhealthy for people, livestock and soils. Join us as we trace corn's origins back to Mesoamerica and conduct a forensic exam on the hybridized, genetically modified corn we know today.

What does it take to grow corn, do subsidies really help farmers, how much corn is too much, how come corn is in so many food products? Aaron Woolf's agricultural-themed documentary, King Corn answers these questions and shows an inside view to the corn industry.
Agronomist, Ricardo Salvador is an expert on the history of corn and has an extensive knowledge on maize physiology.
Mark Muller is an expert on renewable energy production such as ethanol for the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy. Muller also has extensive knowledge on agricultural diversification, nutrient management, agricultural transportation, and regional food systems.
Author, Steve Ettlinger wrote the book, Twinkie, Deconstructed because his daughter asked him what polysorbate 60 was. He realized he couldn’t answer his daughter’s question and the quest to find out began. On the way he discovered that out of the thirty-nine ingredients that a Twinkie is composed of, eight have corn in them.

I do feel corn is ubiquitous and annoys me a little bit! Can't we have other cheap main grain?
