Michelle Hammond is a mother of two whose family was body-burden tested in an Oakland Tribune investigation.

Dr. Dick Jackson helps to facilitate The National Center for Environmental Health, which works to maintain and improve the health of Americans through public health, surveillance, research, and education.

Tom Webster is a professor of Environmental Health at Boston University who specializes in exposure routes and health hazards of persistent organic pollutants, especially polybrominated diphenyl ethers ( PBDEs ), and interactions of chemicals. Dr. Webster has examined the “pigpen effect”.

Monique Harden works for Earth Justice, a non-profit public interest law firm. Harden is currently working towards protecting human rights in Mossville, Louisiana by strengthening environmental laws.

The Occupational Health Service Institute (OHSI) works to provide comprehensive occupational and environmental health and safety services to individuals, communities and institutions. Dr. Peter Orris works with OHSI to assist with the problems and needs of minority and disadvantaged workers and communities is an issue that is emphasized within the OHSI.

The Community In-power Development Association (CIDA) is a four year old community organization in Port Arthur , Texas created by Hilton Kelley. Its mission is to help young people “understand the complexities of our government and how they can stand together to make change in our community, obtain their personal goals in business, homeownership, and politics, and address health and environmental issues in our community”.
